The Manitoba Hereford Association will host their Annual Good as Gold Sale on December 6th at 1 PM CST. We are excited to attend once again and offer what we believe are two exceptional Hereford heifers: FLYC Sierra 106L and FLYC Aston 110L. These heifers share a similar build but have distinct designs. Both are sired by Big Country, mothered by young Flyer cows, and bred to /S Mandate 66589ET.
FLYC Sierra 106L is a moderately framed powerhouse, resembling her grand dam, GHR Hotshot 162B, a cow we acquired from Don Guilford’s dispersal. Her grand dam has produced some of our herd’s favorite females, and we’re confident 106L will follow suit. She boasts a very maternal set of traits.
FLYC Aston 110L is a standout heifer in her own right—a long-bodied brood cow prospect. Her maternal sister sold in last year’s Good as Gold Sale to KDB Ranching in Oak Lake, and her maternal brother, FLYC Lambeau 5E, served as our purebred herd sire for years before transitioning to our commercial herd. Astute buyers will recognize her potential.
After 28 years in the cattle business, we believe this is one of the best sets of heifers we’ve brought to market.
Flyer Cattle Co. is open to collaborating with potential buyers, so don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!
2023 MHA Good as Gold Sale Consignments
FLYER-CATTLE HALSEY 6K
SOLD
FLYER-CATTLE SAGE 7K
SOLD
After a three-year break, we are thrilled to reunite with our fellow Manitoba breeders at the MHA Good as Gold Sale. This year, we believe our offering comprises two dynamic bred heifers that will undoubtedly become outstanding additions to their new herds.
Flyer-Cattle Halsey 6K is a very snazzy Bolder daughter. Fully pigmented, moderately framed, correctly structured and an easy-going female. She ranks in the top 10% of the breed for calving ease and birthweight. Safe in calf to /S Mandate 66589ET will make for an exciting mating.
Flyer-Cattle Sage 7K is a low birth weight, Big Country daughter with calving ease credentials. She ranks in the top 4% of the breed for calving ease, birth weight, and maternal calving ease; top 10% for milk. 30% of net proceeds will be donated to Ronald Mcdonald House Charities Manitoba in Loving Memory of Doug Blaine. RMHC Manitoba will be in attendance sale day where attendees can learn more about their Manitoba initiatives and make monetary donations should they choose. We'll feature fantastic door prizes at the RMHC table. Make sure to stop by for a shot at winning! The decision to donate to RMHC Manitoba is a tribute to Doug Blaine, Brent's father, and Cooper's grandfather. Doug cherished two things most in the world – his family and McDonald's. And what better organization brings those values together than RMHC? Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Manitoba provides crucial support for the health and well-being of children receiving medical care, offering essential services and a home away from home for their families. For more information about RMHC, please visit rmhcmanitoba.org.
In these turbulent times, we believe this opportunity allows us all to give back to our community, whether through the purchase of Sage 7K or a monetary donation. To make a donation, kindly visit www.rmhccanada.ca/fundrasiers/in-loving-memory-of-doug-blaine.
